VRne | Digital Week 2016

I presented this project during Nantes Digital Week 2016, an on week local event aiming to familiarize the general public with new technologies.

In partnership with CLARTE, we created an virtuality experience inspired by Jules Verne’s novel « Around the World in Eighty Days ».

A virtual reality experience inspired by Jules Verne

VRne is a virtual reality experience designed for a L-Screen, an immersive virtual reality environment where projectors are directed to two walls. The user wears 3D glasses inside the L-Screen to see the 3D graphics generated.

Our experience is inspired by the passage of « Around the World in Eighty Days » by Jules Verne in the US. The user is « placed » on the roof of a moving train, and is going through different environnement, from mountain to desert. His goal is to avoid the obstacles on his way. To do so, he just has to use his body and go down or lean on the side, since the glasses he is wearing are tracked by infrared sensors.
