Running a ‘Google Ventures’ Design Sprint with BSI to improve the lift inspection process for engineers.
2018 — 1 week
Sharing individual work after the 4 steps sketching exercise.
We worked with BSI to validate opportunities to improve the compliance checklist process for their clients in the lift inspection industry.
We brought together key members of the BSI team, real customers and Maido designers to rapidly design, prototype and test ideas, while ensuring results were desirable by customers and feasible for the business.

Notes taken during the Ask the Experts exercise.
I helped prepare and facilitate the workshop, leading some of the exercises. Based on the wireframes and storyboard created during the first 2 days, I built an Invision prototype of the solution identified. The last day was devoted to remote user testing with BSI customers, for which I helped prepare the script and assisted during the sessions.

The solutions envisioned during the workshop enhanced the value of the BSI service by digitally streamlining client processes by making standards more actionable. The concept was validated by the user testing, and we were able to present the results to the wider BSI team at the end of the week.
Designs for the tablet app prototype created during the workshop.
Because of the positive results of the workshop, I later had the opportunity to lead user testing sessions on BSI's Compliance Navigator, an online platform helping customers manage their regulatory information for Medical Devices with UK and EU requirements. The goal was to evaluate how medical product engineers were managing and interacting with BSI standards.
